610HD tower supporting a MA-6B antenna and Channel Master rotator

I’ve been quite pleased with my 610HD tower. It went together just fine, and no problems found during assembly. I assembled it in the garage just to make sure everything fit, and that there were no missing pieces. It was then easy enough for three of us to get the tower onto the patio roof and install the MA-6B antenna and rotator. I used an old Channel Master rotator that fit in place just perfectly – no extra hole drilling required.

45HD tower supporting a NA4RR Hex Beam with Yaseu G–1000DXA rotator

I am very happy with the product quality and customer service from Carlson Roof Towers! When I picked up my 45HD tower, James gave me a brief tour of his facility. It became quite evident how dedicated he is to continually improving his towers. He spares no effort to get things right. Assembling this stout antenna tower was a breeze and actually enjoyable. And I spray-painted the tower flat black to match my NA4RR Hex Beam antenna which I’d painted when I constructed it several years ago. My Yaseu G–1000DXA rotator fit perfectly.

810HD tower supporting a NA4RR Hex Beam

My installation of the 810HD was about as simple as can be. My son and I assembled the tower in less than 90 minutes. About an hour later, my handyman had it bolted to the reinforced roof. Jim Carlson shortened two tower legs to accommodate the roof pitch. It’s installed atop the lanai roof behind the house, making it mostly inconspicuous. The tower supports a NA4RR hex beam at 21 feet above ground, which is 14 feet above sea-level. In the three months since erecting the tower and beam, I’ve added about 20 new countries to my log. This tower was the key to erecting a very effective multi-band antenna system. The combination has exceeded my expectations.

810HD tower supporting a VHQ Hex Beam plus two side-mounted Comet antennas, a 2 meter and a 70 cm

I purchased the 810HD tower a year ago and have it mounted on the carport which is next to the hamshack. On the tower is a rotor mounted on the shelf. From the rotor is a 10-foot aluminum thick wall pipe with a VHQ Hex Beam. Side mounted is a Comet 2 meter and 70 cm antenna. The tower directions were easy to follow and all of the holes lined up. The tower is heavy-duty but light enough to carry up to the roof. Thank you for making the product available.

45HD tower with KIO hexbeam

I absolutely love my Carlson 45HD tower. I have recommended it to several friends. I am a control operator on the YLsystem during the winter months and have told many people of my set up. Right now it has a KIO hexbeam mounted on it. Jim was super easy to work with. Having limited space in my yard, and a limited budget, I found the Carlson tower to be the best option. It was very straight forward to put together and install. My house is an older house and it took a little more effort on my end to prepare the house for mounting. I would highly recommend Carlson Roof Towers to anyone.

45HD tower with Yaesu DC-5500 azimuth rotor mounted in the base and elevation unit mounted up top, operating an M2 LEO-Pack antenna

I’m extremely pleased with the 45HD tower. I love it! The assembly was straightforward with all necessary parts included. I used lag bolts and 2×4 bracers inside the roof of my shed to secure the base. It’s the perfect size for my setup and has withstood wind storm Derecho and Hurricane Beryl without issue. I have a Yaesu DC-5500 azimuth rotor mounted in the base section with an 1.25-inch mast and thrust bearing. Mounted up top is the elevation unit of the rotor with an M2 LEO-Pack installed for satellite operation. With this setup my son KG5YPD and I both managed to contact NA1SS aboard the International Space Station. Absolutely fantastic! I plan on taking it with us if/when we move to a new QTH.

815HD tower with Hex Beam antenna

Carlson 815HD Roof Tower with Hex Beam antenna

I just got it up on the roof last week. So far the 815HD is working great! I put a Hex Beam on it. Yesterday I talked to several places, including China and the West coast of Africa on just 100 watts.  I also talked from Idaho to Japan on 5 watts. The tower is super steady and worked perfectly for my roofline.

815HD tower with Mosley TA-33M Yagi antenna 30 ft on 17-foot mast. Ten 50 lb-pound bags of concrete ballast the tower on flat roof.

Finally completely finished the install of your 815HD roof tower. The Mosley TA-33M Yagi antenna is up 30 ft above the ground on a 2″ mast. There’s 13 feet of 2″ DOM steel mast above the thrust bearing. The total length of the mast is 17 ft. I’m in the process of making a very strong 1/8″ steel ring for guy wires that will allow the mast to rotate. I’ll put the guy ring up at about 10 feet above the thrust bearing and attach three 5/16″ Dacron guy ropes to three sides with anchor bolts into the roof trusses. As you can see, there are 10 fifty-pound bags of concrete laid across each of the flat roof mount feet. After a couple of rainstorms, the bags are now solid concrete. 500 pounds.

45HD tower with Yaesu G5500 az-el rotator operating M2 Leo-Pack antennas.

I am very happy with the Carlson 45HD. It is a very well designed and manufactured tower. It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy. I use it for a semi portable satellite station. I have a Yaesu G5500 azimuth-elevation rotator mounted to the tower to position M2 Leo-Pack antennas.

610HD with LFA 7 element 6-meter antenna

With the correct brackets everything went together fine. I got the tower installed last week with the extra bracing to the rafters in the attic. Yesterday we installed the LFA 7 element 6-meter antenna and everything is working fine. I am really happy with the tower.

The 45HD tower was very easy to put together. The materials were cut very precisely, the fit and finish were outstanding, and it looks very sturdy. As a test stand it was fantastic, easy to tilt down, easy to change out the rotor, and certainly easy to climb up if necessary. Workmanship is top notch! I would highly recommend the Carlson rooftop tower to anyone in the market for a sturdy, well constructed, and reliable tower. In addition, the customer service is second to none!
